“When You Know Better, You Can Do Better”

By Bryn Blankinship, Certified Master Hypnotherapist

People have an innate sense of wanting to succeed.  It’s born in us.  It’s the thing that makes us keep trying until we finally learn to be able to stand up and walk those first few steps.  And it doesn’t stop there…

We are always “tweaking”, improving ourselves thru our experiences in life and lifetime after lifetime.  I write about the many ways hypnosis has helped others in my blog called “HypnoTweaks”.  “Tweaking” refers to fine-tuning or adjusting a complex system. Tweaks are any small modifications intended to improve a system, in this case…the complex human system which consisting of mind, body & spirit.

Hypnosis is a great tool for releasing stuck emotions so you can move forward and be your best.  Whether its setting goals in sports, academics, sales or even weight release, we are always striving to improve ourselves.  It’s those times where we beat ourselves up thinking we haven’t done well enough that we get stuck in a loop of negative thinking that we have to pull ourselves out of in order to move forward.

A problem can’t be solved in the energy in which it was created in.  Therefore you must “rise above” to be able to reflect on it, to “move beyond it” in order to resolve it and find inner peace again.  Sometimes it can take many lifetimes of experiencing the opposing sides of the situation to fully understand and move thru the experience.  Learning thru it and releasing pain as this occurs.

It is said that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.  Thru our human experiences we learn to grow thru obstacles and difficulties improving ourselves.  Each lifetime we are learning and experiencing, striving for perfection thru having had the experience.   And between lifetimes our guides work with us to review the life to look for areas that have improved and those areas where more tweaking is needed.  It is in these situations that we are the most judgmental of ourselves.  Our guides extend support and guidance while we struggle with feelings we hold about our own progress.

Many times a person regressed to a lifetime requiring combat or killing may carry remorse for having taken the life of another, thereby robbing them of their experience on Earth.  In their current incarnation it may part of their lesson to serve in a healing profession helping others mentally, physically or emotionally thru their work.  Even if it was in self-defense, it does not make it easier for the soul experiencing this.  Often the biggest part of forgiveness is forgiving themselves so they can more forward, releasing themselves from guilt or anguish.

Although death is never viewed lightly, there are other times where the soul’s remorse is lightened once it is understood that the other soul was experiencing the flipside of the coin by agreeing to be part of the experience with them to help them with their lessons.  Just as there are souls who agree to be ill in order for others around them to be given the opportunity to help them and love them  and learn thru the experience of it.  Perhaps in a past life, those same people were caretakers for them.  Once we get it, we don’t have to repeat it, we get to move on.  Always tweaking, learning and improving thru each experience here on Earth.

So if you find yourself feeling down on yourself, sit quietly and think back on your own life.  Look at your childhood and remember how you felt when you first learned to write the alphabet and to form sentences and compare it to where you are now.  Or when you learned to drive a car and when merging or passing someone in another lane was a difficult thing to do.  You’ll see that you are naturally improving as you grow.

Now look at your relationships and see where you started and how you have grown.  Notice areas that could be improved and allow yourself to view it as an observer to see where this too has improved and where tweaks in your actions or reactions could make things better for you… and for others in your life.

When it all comes down to it, it’s about the feelings that occur in the between–the feelings between people, feelings between you and an experience, or the feelings you carry with you from lifetime to lifetime that make up the theme you are working your way thru.  Give yourself a break as you remember you are only human, you came here to experience and as you know better, you can do better.  And remember we are always doing our best as we progress.
